Runa transcribes your meetings by capturing audio directly from your computer’s system output. There is no bot to invite, no meeting link to share, and no participant list notification when Runa starts recording. You simply open Runa before your call and it captures everything — on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or any other conferencing tool you use.
Because Runa works at the system audio level rather than joining as a meeting participant, your calls stay clean and private. Other participants never see a bot in the room, and your recordings are stored locally and on your account — not routed through a third-party bot service.

How Runa captures audio

Runa hooks into your computer’s audio output, picking up everything your speakers or headphones receive during a call. This means it works regardless of which conferencing platform you use — there is no integration to configure per platform and no permissions to grant inside Zoom or Google Meet. When you start a recording in Runa, it begins capturing the mixed audio stream from your system. After the meeting, Runa processes the audio and produces a full transcript attributed by speaker.

Platform support

Because Runa captures system audio rather than integrating directly with each conferencing tool, it works everywhere:
  • Zoom — standard meetings, webinars, and Zoom Phone calls
  • Google Meet — all Meet sessions in your browser or the desktop app
  • Microsoft Teams — meetings, calls, and channel meetings
  • Any other platform — Webex, Loom recordings, internal audio tools, and more
No additional setup is needed when you switch between platforms.

Language support

Runa automatically detects the language being spoken and transcribes it accordingly. Supported languages include English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Polish, Swedish, and more — 14+ languages in total. You do not need to set the language before a meeting.

What you get after the meeting

Once a meeting ends, Runa produces:
  • A full transcript with speaker attribution
  • Timestamped segments so you can navigate to any point in the conversation
  • The raw material used to generate your AI meeting notes
The transcript is stored in your Runa account and becomes part of your searchable company brain.
